Metro Los Angeles Chancellor’s Society Virtual Event

August 17, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

The UCLA Chancellor’s Society in partnership with the Metro LA Regional Chancellor’s Society committee invite you to an exclusive presentation featuring special guest:

Laura Abrams
Professor and Chair, Social Welfare

The Vital Role of Social Workers Amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic and Quest for Racial Justice

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic and continued quest for racial justice, social workers still walk Skid Row. They still go to homes where children are in need. They still report to work at hospitals where patients die alone and families need to be located and told. It’s their job – their essential job. Join Laura Abrams, professor and chair of social welfare, as she talks about how the coronavirus pandemic and continued quest for racial justice has affected the social work profession and those working on the front lines with vulnerable clients and communities.

RSVP is by invitation only.
