Environmental Antibiotic Resistance in California:Â From Cattle Farms to Surfers
Rising levels of antibiotic resistance pose a serious global health concern, and the role of the environment in spreading antibiotic resistance is currently not well understood. Join us as we take an exclusive first-look at Professor Jennifer Jay’s research uncovering the impact of ocean-dwelling antibiotic resistant pathogens on the nasal microbiome of surfers at Venice Beach and El Porto. Professor Jay will also share how a UCLA class covering food and the environment changed the dietary habits of students and demonstrated the importance of modest, voluntary diet changes in mitigating climate change.
RSVP is by invitation only.
