Finding (and creating) happiness. An evolutionary approach.
Happiness can be fleeting and elusive, but with a perspective grounded in evolutionary biology, we can better understand exactly what it is. And from the surprising answer, we can draw unexpected insights about how to consciously structure our lives to make ourselves (and those around us) happier.
Jay Phelan has been on the faculty of the UCLA Life Sciences Core Program since 1997, specializing in evolutionary biology, human behavior, and genetics. His work has also been featured in USA Today, The Los Angeles Times, MSNBC, a TEDx talk, and Elle magazine. He is the recipient of more than a dozen teaching awards, including UCLA’s Distinguished Teaching Award in 2011.
RSVP is by invitation only.
