DESCRIPTION:The San Fernando Valley UCLA Chancellor’s Society and fellow UCLA alumni\, parents and friends will gather for an exclusive reception and presentation featuring special guest: \n  \nBenjamin Karney Ph.D.\nProfessor of Social Psychology \nListening for a Change: Communication with loved ones and resolving conflicts\nWe often experience our most negative and emotional conflicts with the people in our lives who are most important to us. Why is this? Why do well-meaning and loving partners often find themselves in intractable conflicts\, despite their best intentions? In this talk\, Dr. Karney will review recent research on the sources of conflict in close relationships\, and will draw upon this work to offer some strategies for approaching relationship conflicts more effectively. \nThe event is invite only.
