Why is this? Why do well-meaning and loving partners often find themselves in intractable conflicts\, despite their best intentions? In this talk\, Dr. Karney will review recent research on the sources of conflict in close relationships\, and will draw upon this work to offer some strategies for approaching relationship conflicts more effectively. \nThe event is invite only. DESCRIPTION:The West Los Angeles Chancellor’s Society and fellow UCLA alumni\, parents\, and friends for an exclusive reception and presentation featuring special guest: \nAli Khademhosseini\, Ph.D. \nLevi Knight Professor\nDepartment of Bioengineering\, Radiology\, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering\nDirector\, Center for Minimally Invasive Therapeutics \nEngineering in Precision Medicine\nDr. Khademhosseini\, one of the world’s leaders in tissue engineering\, will discuss how his work and his lab is integrating engineering and physical science principles with precision medicine to develop various types of materials\, cells\, and devices that utilize micro- and nanoscale technologies to enable a range of therapies for organ failure\, cardiovascular disease\, and cancer. Dr. Khademhosseini’s interdisciplinary research has been recognized by over 40 major national and international awards\, including the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE)\, the highest honor given by the US government for early career investigators. \n  \nRSVP for this event is by invitation only.
