The Reading Brain in a Digital World:
Promise and Threats to Critical Analysis and Empathy in the Next Generation
Knowledge about the reading brain in our youth indicates worrisome decreases in comprehension, even as they have increased ability to do multitasking. The future of our democratic society depends on a level of critical analysis and empathy that appear threatened by digital mediums. Join Maryanne Wolf as she describes a proposal for a “biliterate brain” that addresses both the threats and promise of digital culture.
RSVP is by invitation only.
